Crafted of Ironstone, these beautiful dishes depict a variety of iconic scenes from American history. The center of this Coupe Cereal Bowl is adorned with a scene of heartened immigrants arriving by water to New York City, beholding the statue of Liberty for the very first time.
Three medallions bearing a coat of arms symbol adorn the rim: an eagle in front of colonial flags with an olive branch in one foot and sheath of arrows in the other. In the foreground a shield with stripes. Rustic wilderness scenes of mountains, lakes and deer trim the edges of the plate. Beautiful trim of molded flourishes separate the center scene from the rim, which is a lovely scalloped shape.
Measures 6.5” round and sold as open stock (individually). Beautiful vintage condition with no chips, cracks, utensil marks or scratches. Some crazing and color aging are present due to the the age of the piece.
