Take your Thanksgiving game to the next level with this Vintage Royal Staffordshire American Legend Dinner Plate, made in England by J&G Meakin. Crafted of Ironstone, these beautiful dishes depict a variety of iconic scenes from American history.
Serving platter is adorned with a landscape scene of the Robert E. Lee steam ship arriving at port, celebrated by a receiving party on the nearest bank. Three medallions bearing a coat of arms symbol adorn the rim: an eagle in front of colonial flags with an olive branch in one foot and sheath of arrows in the other. In the foreground a shield with stripes. Rustic wilderness scenes of mountains, lakes and deer trim the edges of the plate. Beautiful trim of molded flourishes separate the center scene from the rim, which is a lovely scalloped shape.
Measures 12”L x 10”W. Sold as open stock (individually). Beautiful vintage condition with no chips, cracks, utensil marks or scratches. Some crazing and color aging are present due to the the age of the piece.
